Event Contracts: Trade Your View on BTC and ETH, From $0.01
Customers should have simpler, easier ways to trade market movements.
That's why we've launched Event Contracts, which allows eligible customers to take a directional view on whether BTC or ETH will go up or down in a given timeframe.
Now available to eligible traders in Asia, the CIS region, and Latin America, Event Contracts are a different way to trade - offering a fixed cost and fixed potential payout in an easy-to-use interface.
The simplest trade we've built
If you have a view on an asset's price movements, it can take a few steps to set up a traditional Expiry Futures or Options trade. You need to size a position, adjust your leverage, decide when to exit, and monitor it. Sometimes the existing setup just isn't worth it.
Event Contracts are different. Each contract can be interpreted as a question: will BTC be higher in the next 15 minutes? Will ETH be above a target price by tomorrow? You pick a direction, input the amount, and confirm. That's it - that's the trade.
If the price lands where you called it at settlement, you receive a fixed payout. The contract settles automatically against the OKX price index, with nothing to monitor or manage unless you want to exit early.
How the pricing works
Contract prices run from 0.01 to 0.99 USDT and reflect the market's estimated probability of each outcome. A contract priced at 0.20 means the market considers that outcome unlikely — which also means a higher return if you're right. A contract priced at 0.80 reflects a consensus view, with a correspondingly lower upside.
Expiry cycles run from 15 minutes to daily, so you can choose the timeframe according to what you think might act on prices, such as a news event or a macro print.
Event Contracts trade directly from your existing USDT balance. There's no on-chain setup or separate wallet required. The minimum trade size is $0.01.
How to get started
Open the OKX app and go to the Markets or Trade tab
Select the Events category
Choose your market — BTC or ETH
Select Buy Up or Buy Down
Enter your amount and confirm
The contract settles automatically at expiry.
